red dot ready: century arms\' tp9 sfx is packed with features.

For a new name, it is not easy to make progress in today\'s pistol market.
A good way to do this is to provide great value for money.
I remember when I first saw a pre-production sample of Canik TP9 SFx.
Jim Tal and I are watching the century weapons booth at the shooting show and their marketing representative, Dina Sanders, introduced us to this.
We were impressed by its features and price.
When his voice rises and he starts to speak very fast, you can always know when he will be excited.
Dina mentioned that the retail price was only $549.
99, he changed from a fairly conservative person to a sudden chat at MG42 speed. I had to agree;
The prototype looks full of features that the shooter is interested in and the price is high.
The first thing I thought of was that it was able to install a compact red dot scene.
Interest in installing the red dot attraction on a pistol has erupted.
A few decades ago, a strange stunt by \"gamers\" suddenly became mainstream.
Today, people install red spot spots on handguns not only for the sake of competition, but also for hunting, entertainment shooting and even personal protection.
Some military and LE forces have even explored the merits of the Red Dot --sighted pistol.
They are particularly attractive to old shooters who have lost close sight.
A few years ago, when my eyesight began to fade, I played with the concept and played more and ended up playing a Trijicon on the Glock 9.
It is a real advantage to not have to make a fuss about obscure attractions, and the benefits of accuracy are undeniable.
You might think, who the hell is Canik? Good question.
Kannick is located north-
Samsun Yurt Savunma, central Turkey (SYS).
SYS is one of Turkey\'s largest and fastest-growing defense contractors.
It has been around for about 17 years, producing all the products from rocket and missile launchers to sniper rifles.
The company also produces aviation components for Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Airbus.
Canik has been certified ISO 9001 to provide handguns to the Turkish army and police and several law enforcement agencies and military organizations around the world.
Like many Gunners in this area, it produces a variety of CZ-75 clones.
However, it also produces a model called TP9, which is more like a copy of the popular p99 in Walter.
Century Arms sees potential in TP9 and imports it to the US for commercial salesS. market.
This is a kind-
Clunker, but it is a reliable and accurate clunker
The street is about $299.
After several years, Century weapons has worked hard to develop and improve Canik\'s products based on user feedback.
This concept is followed at the foot.
Steps of Springfield Armory with a very successful XD series.
Springfield Armory is the exclusive importer of the 9x 19mm HS2000 in Croatia.
They then made some changes and renamed it XD and did a good job in that regard.
The latest product offered by Century Arms in its growing Canik product line is the new TP9 SFx. This is a long-
It is conceptually similar to the slide competition model of Glock 34.
When it comes with the iron spot, buyers can also easily install the red spot.
My review pistol was neatly packed in foam
Lined with hard plastic case.
Not one or two, but four 20-Round magazine.
These are good quality Mec-Gar 18-
Circular steel magazine on the second floor of factory installation-plates.
In addition to the pistol, there are holsters, magazine loading tools, cleaning equipment, straps, four line of sight bases to accommodate a wide variety of red dot lines of sight, one line
On the charging handle, magazine release extension, spare fiber tube for front view, wrench, well written instructions and spare screws.
Actually, I was surprised by the large number of items that came with Canik TP9 SFx.
TP9 SFx is a modern self
The loading is designed in 9mm Parabellum and built on the polymer frame.
Lightning cutting and polishing of tungsten gray Cerakote on Parkerizing brings visual effects to the slidescatching look.
The size of TP9 SFx is long
In the slide, Gus Norcross jokingly called the \"big iron\" of 5 \". 2-inch barrel.
Canik fits this model with a forged 32CrMoV 12-cold hammer10 steel match-
There are six levels of land and grooves on the right-hand twist.
The barrel has an inclined, fully supported chamber.
The recoil spring is a kind of surrounding-
Length of steel guide rod.
Unlike Glock, Canik\'s guide bar has a certain weight on it and many people will like it.
The operation is rather traditional short.
Tilt the barrel back with an improved browning.
I threw it on the port cargo scale I trusted and found it weighing 28 lbs.
Unload 8 ounces
TP9 SFx measures 8.
2 inch long, 6.
2 inch high 1. 3 inches wide.
The frame outline is good and quite comfortable in hand.
Like most modern designs, it has an interchanging strap that can accommodate medium and large hands.
The pistol is equipped with what I think is medium.
Size straps with a spare for large hands.
The straps are changed by rolling out a pin that combines some old-fashioned heavy work.
The fit Place is tight and you will want you to eat wheat before you make it.
Finally, I prefer the medium size straps.
While the frame is nicely carved and fits the human hand, I hope the texture is more positive.
That said, I like the lower cut trigger guard that allows for higher grip, and I like the oversized square trigger guard that allows gloves to use. A single-action striker-
Canik TP9 SFx adopts an improved trigger design compared to the standard model.
When the pistol is lifted, a raised indicator that can be easily felt or seen protrudes from the back of the slide.
This ensures that even in the case of insufficient light, the status of the pistol is obvious to the shooter.
The trigger weight of my test pistol is about 4 lbs.
2 pounds, it has a short reset.
It feels different from the Glock I work with the ghost connector.
You have quite a few pre-
Travel before it piles up, and then just a little crawl, it breaks.
It\'s interesting to get out of the box.
The pistol is equipped with a factory-mounted extended slip cover.
This is easy to operate and not annoying.
TP9 SFx also installed medium length extension cords on the magazine distribution.
This is a bit annoying;
I found it too long.
Canik also includes short magazine and long magazine extensions that are easy to swap with one screw.
If you find that the short extension is still too long for your taste, don\'t worry, you can run well without the extension.
To test, I replaced the medium length of the pistol boat with a short extension cord.
This works well for me and I can easily manipulate it without changing the grip.
I wouldn\'t have if I had this pistol on social occasions.
Run the extension.
If you\'re left behind
Handed, you can easily reverse the issue of the magazine.
With a mil std 1913 guide rail slot, the dust cover can be easily installed with accessories such as white light or laser.
Continuing with my inspection of the frame, I noticed that mag was tilted nicely to help with a quick reload.
Just press the button and empty magazines can be thrown for free.
The magazines look of good quality. Mec-
Gar is an OEM magazine supplier for many wells
Known pistols including Ruger SR9, S & w m & P, Walther PPQ, Beretta 92 and SIG p226.
The magazine is blue steel with a polymer base and followers.
They have 18 numbered lead holes in the back to quickly determine how many more rounds are available.
Take-out is simple.
Remove the magazine and make sure the gun is unloaded.
The pistol points in the safe direction, pulls the trigger down the shooter, and then pulls down on the disassembly Rod on both sides of the frame above the trigger.
The slides will fall off the front of the frame.
You can then remove the recoil spring assembly and slide the barrel out.
The slide rides on the rails inside the polymer frame, and from the inside of the frame you will find a setting that seems familiar.
After all, there are only so many ways to build a striker --fired gun.
Overall, this is an interesting piece, but what attracts my attention is the visual selection.
The TP9 SFx is equipped with Warren tactical attractions, not some of the common Turkish factory attractions.
The front is in line with the slide and comes with red fiber.
This jagged blade is measured at a narrow edge. 120\" in width.
The rear view is a huge U-notch.
The back of the line of sight is simple black with no dots, bars or other distractions.
The real return is the ability to install a compact red dot line of sight using the mounting block that is provided to fit the slide cut.
Canik includes four different blocks with a pistol, allowing you to install a variety of red dots.
The installation block has a clear number corresponding to the data in the instruction that tells you which block is suitable for what optical module.
It\'s all very simple and clear.
If you are not in danger with scissors, you can easily install a red dot on TP9 SFx.
Is there a drawback to Canik\'s design? Yes.
When the red dot is installed, you remove the rear view.
Factory Warren tactical Rear View is installed on blocks that need to be removed to accommodate red dots. Bummer.
I prefer the iron spot.
In my experience, the iron can help you \"find points\", especially when you switch to point vision for the first time.
Some people complain about the lack of post-vision, \"others don\'t care.
The interchanging mounting block places the red dot scene at the top of the slide.
If the slides are processed to accept the red dot scene of a particular series, they can be installed at a lower, closer to the hole line.
When TP9 SFx first arrived at my FFL dealer, Quantico tactical in Kans city.
They called me to let me know it\'s here.
Although it didn\'t take long to notice what was happening.
Obviously, TP9 SFx and everything that comes with it left a deep impression on the whole store.
So I asked them to give it a try at the indoor pistol range and give me their ideas.
They did it with enthusiasm.
When I arrived they handed me a test target folder and gave me thoughtful comments.
Since they \'ve been shooting indoors, one thing they \'ve found is that it\'s hard to see in front of narrow fiber.
The ambient light in the indoor range is not enough to make the fiber popular.
My initial test was done using the steel sites of the factory for various gun battles. com targets.
I made it from Wolf steel. case 115-
Grain FMJ, feel Canik and see how it works.
Loading 20-
The circular magazine revealed that while they were holding a pile of bullets, they could easily fit them.
I never felt the need to include magazine loading tools.
The attached holster is an ugly thing with a removable rubber seat belt and a paddle with a slot.
You can adjust cant if you want.
The holster has a spring-loaded piece that engages the front of the trigger shield to help keep it.
It won\'t lock the handle in the holster, but it helps to prevent the pistol from falling off.
You just have to pull the pistol out.
While nothing fancy, the included holsters work well before offering better things in the aftermarket.
TP9 SFx has no problem running in my initial test.
I noticed that the front view was narrower than I liked.
Basically, if your vision has degraded to a level where the forward vision is blurred and difficult to see, you may not like it.
However, if you are young and have no vision problems, then narrow forward vision may help to improve accuracy. The Wolf 115-
The grain FMJ load is a bit lively in 5. 2-
Inch barrel, I prefer more aggressive textures on the frame.
I installed the Burris FastFire \"3 red dot vision system before testing the fur accuracy.
It took only a few minutes.
This is not only a sight of a lightweight and hard little red dot, but it is also relatively economical.
FastFire 3 has three manual brightness settings and automaticadjust setting.
One feature I particularly like is that the battery can be easily installed from the top, not from the bottom.
Therefore, when replacing the battery, there is no need to remove the line of sight like other brands.
Small Burris is easy to install and looks good.
Next I collection the five a different of 9mm pound weight from 65 to 147 of range of Parabellum goods then back go.
Inceptor 65 of Polycase-
Grain RNP practical load copper with lightweight fragile-
Loaded onto a polymer round nose bomb claiming a speed of 1525 fps.
Ammo is evolving and I would love to see how good the copper in Polycase is
Polymer bullets were carried out.
At the other end of the spectrum is high-performance steel for Wolf Performance Ammunition-case 115-grain FMJ load.
This is an economical ball load that I use in my personal practice.
Hornady\'s 124-is a prestigious load in terms of accuracy
So I added it to the mixture.
Although the manufacturer is no longer open, I am at 147-
Grain JHP Asian EMCON suppression device-Specific load.
I used it to shoot some great groups but there were a couple of boxes in the sand pit so I dragged it out.
In the end, I chose 147 for SIG Sauer-
Sub-speed load of grain FMJ.
I haven\'t shot this load before and would love to see how it works.
After returning Burris FastFire 31 to zero, he began taking four or five pictures.
A set of bullets resting at 25 yards.
I have to say that the red dot attraction makes it easier for the shooting team compared to the traditional iron attraction.
Accuracy is perfectly acceptable with Hornady 124-
Best five for grain xtp jhp release-
The shooting team of the day has just measured. 75\".
The average load is very considerable.
6 inch, 1190 fps. HPR\'s 147-
Next is the grain EMCON load with an average of 2.
2 inch at a stable 924 fps.
The third place to win is 115-
Food FMJ load, which posted the best 2.
25 inch, average 2.
Reach 4 inch at 1349 fps.
Polycase\'s 65-
The average grain import load is 2.
7 inch at bubble 1705 fps.
SIG Sauer\'s 147 for some reason-
The grain FMJ load is different from TP9 SFx, which is a disappointing 4 inch at 1046 fps.
Except for the very slight HPR load, all of which run without any problem, the HPR load fails to lock the slide.
When I finished the shooting group on paper, I turned to 100 yards to take the steel silhouette.
It turns out that rest is too easy;
You put that point on your chest.
After a while, I started shooting from a roadblock and then shot right away.
From there, I moved to 15 yards and before doing some drills from the holster, I ran a little bit of my easel.
There are 20 rounds on the faucet, and 60 rounds on the spare magazine, and it won\'t take long to get through some ammunition.
I have traveled 500 kilometers.
The first day of the test, the round case of Wolf 9mm Parabellum, another 500-
Round case for the next day.
There was no problem other than I had to re-use the red dot visual base once. My thoughts?
All in all, Century weapons company Canik TP9 SFx performed very well.
The only problem that works is that the slide fails to lock 147 of the HPR-grain load.
Or the pistol runs perfectly.
The accuracy was very good, which surprised me.
The control is easy to operate, the trigger is very good under a short reset, press the button, the magazine will pop up clean.
I really hope the texture on the frame is more aggressive.
While my boat is not floating on the view of the iron, I do like the performance of Burris FastFire 3.
Just, keep in mind that on the pistol, it takes a little practice to transition from the iron spot to the red spot.
At first you will find yourself looking for this point, but it will disappear as you practice.
The retail price of TP9 SFx is $549.
99, and the price of the street is a little cheaper.
If you buy a red dot in the market
Get the pistol ready, that\'s what you should consider.
